Some Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over a fresh hike in the prices of DStv and GOtv packages by MultiChoice Nigeria, owners of the pay television platforms.

In a notice to its customers on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the company said the new price increase would be effective Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

MultiChoice in the message noted that it understands “the impact this change may have on you, our valued customer,” but the decision to raise the fees for the packages was due to the rise in the cost of business operations.

The firm said DStv subscribers will have to pay N37,000 for the premium bouquet from next Wednesday versus the current fee of N29,500, while the Compact+ package will cost N25,000 versus N19,800.
