Although the BJP had taken a series of steps to woo the Christian community in Kerala, the state BJP leaders are complaining that the same does not reflect in the list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. In 2019, the NDA had three Christian candidates โ€” K J Alphons (Ernakulam) and K V Sabu (Kollam) fielded by the BJP; and Kerala Congress (T)โ€™s P C Thomas, but this time there is only one โ€” Anil Antony (BJP) from Pathanamthitta. Kerala BJP leaders say when they go to meet church leaders during campaigning, they are being asked why the party has not fielded more candidates from the community.

Indian embassies overseas have for many years showcased Indian handicrafts and textiles, but now they have started showcasing a new range of made-in-India products โ€” indigenously-produced whiskey. Earlier this month, the Indian embassy in Beijing hosted a whiskey tasting event featuring seven Indian products from Amrut, Paul John, and Indri. At the event, tasters as well as enthusiasts from China got a chance to savour Indiaโ€™s finest whiskies.

The arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has provoked strong reactions from opposition parties, and INDIA bloc parties even sent a delegation to the Election Commission, seeking its intervention into the matter. The parties are concerned about the incarceration of opposition leaders when the model code of conduct is in effect. However, it looks unlikely that the EC will intervene since the matter is sub judice.
