CONGRESS NATIONAL general secretary and star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in her first election rally in Gujarat, accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being the first PM who lies and does not “speak the truth from the responsible position he holds”.

Maintaining that “Modi is afraid”, Vadra said, “The PM is saying the Congress would takeaway your jewellery and loot you… because his confidence is shaken and he is afraid.” She was referring to BJP alleging if Congress comes to power, it will snatch over half of the earnings of the people via inheritance tax.

She was speaking at the tribal dominated Dharampur in support of Congress MLA Anant Patel, who is contesting from the Valsad Lok Sabha seat.

She claimed that BJP’s top leadership may be pretending to be in denial mode now, but the party will change the Constitution if it returns to power. “The BJP leaders and ministers say that once they cross 400 seats (in the Lok Sabha), they will change the Constitution. Modiji denies this in his public meetings. Be warned, when they return to power, they will do all those things they denied.” “If there is no progress in your lives in 10 years (since Modi became PM), I am telling you nothing will be done in the next five years. You will continue to get 5 kg ration and gas cylinder will cost Rs 1,200 again,” she added.
